Carbon Neutral started in 2001 as a branch of Men of the Trees Western Australia Inc.
In 2007, Carbon Neutral Ltd was formed as a separate company, in which Men of the Trees (WA) Inc retains a controlling interest.
As the organisation was founded on tree planting Carbon Neutral's financial year is from October to September, which matches planting cycles.
