calculator for individuals and households
This calculator is designed to be used by individuals to estimate both direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions which have been caused by their activities in one year.
It includes the emissions sources that cause the greatest impact on the environment, however it does not include emissions from all purchases, and will therefore exclude some emissions.
The calculator is not designed to be complete or to replace a formal emissions audit. It is always likely that there are some emissions which have not been accounted for, however if used correctly, the calculators should cover the activities from which most emissions are generated. For details of the factors and assumptions used in this calculator please click the factors tab above.
You can choose to calculate emissions from all sources, or simply the sources of your choice.
You will be asked to input information on your energy use, fuel use etc. If this information is unobtainable, you may find it easy to estimate, or use the averages provided throughout the calculator. Your emissions estimate is based on your annual consumption so if you estimate your consumption on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis, it will be extrapolated into annual consumption.

calculator for organisations
This calculator is designed to be used by small to medium sized organisations to estimate both direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions which have been caused by their activities in one year. For larger organisations, please contact Carbon Neutral on email or phone to request an excel based calculator or to discuss an emissions audit.
