- All Carbon Neutral plantings from and including some in 2007 will be on land where Carbon Rights (CR) and a Carbon Covenant (CC) will be registered.
- The CC & CR will be negotiated with the landholder for the period of time calculated to offset the emissions required under the program. This will be in most cases for 100 years unless otherwise negotiated with an organization (e.g. Carbon Neutral reserves the right to plant more trees so the carbon dioxide will be sequestered more quickly).
- All CR & CC in WA will be held by Carbon Neutral Ltd.
- Carbon Neutral Ltd guarantee they will hold the Carbon Rights for the duration of the Covenant (in most cases 70- 100 years).
