carbon neutral

Climate change is a serious problem affecting all of us.  Our current carbon dioxide emission levels are causing global warming and are unsustainable for the planet.

Going carbon neutral is an easy way that we can all contribute to a solution by taking responsibility for the carbon dioxide emissions we create with our cars, airplanes and energy use.

While this might seem like a big responsibility, it's easier than you might think.  The average Australian can contribute to tree planting to offset their carbon dioxide emissions.

To get started, try calculating your household emissions using our simple online calculator.

how you can help

One effective way we can combat greenhouse gas emissions is to plant trees.

Trees absorb carbon dioxide while they grow and trap it for years.  It takes these trees up to 100 years to neutralise the emissions you are creating today.

It will take around six trees to absorb one tonne of CO2 in areas where we plant, with up to 50% of the absorption occurring within the first 10 years.

Trees also help to combat salinity, reduce soil erosion, clean underground water systems and provide habitat for wildlife.

For only $19 per tonne or around $3 per tree, Carbon Neutral will help you to offset your carbon dioxide emissions by planting native trees on your behalf.
