year in Australia approximately 100 million (Aust Post) Christmas cards will be
sent around the country inflicting a heavy toll on the environment.
Trees
are cut down and energy is used to produce cards and envelopes with the vast
majority ending up in landfill. Paper production is also very water-intensive
and the whole production cycle and delivery leads to greenhouse gas emissions
which contribute to climate change.
By
choosing to partner with Carbon Neutral and send ecards or Gift Certificates
this year you can demonstrate your commitment to the environment by reducing
use of natural resources and helping to plant more trees.

FAQs
How Can the Cards Be Personalised?
Cards come with variable fields where Carbon Neutral will
personalise your card with your company’s name.
In ecard samples 2 & 3, your personal message can also be
included.
Is the payment tax deductable?
This payment is not tax deductable because it cannot be classified
as a donation. Therefore GST must be paid and has been included in the price.
What trees will be planted, by whom, where and how?
The trees will be allocated to various sites in Western Australia
where Carbon Neutral is planting native mixed biodiversity species.
Revegetation has many recorded benefits including increasing soil stability and
reducing wind and water erosion. It has also been researched that trees can
reduce (water) recharge into the landscape, lowering the groundwater level and
combating water logging.
Trees will protect these sites from erosion and add to the current
remnant vegetation. This will help to increase the biodiversity of the area and
create habitat for the native fauna of the area. The sites are degraded and
eroded and in an area of high recharge subjecting the site to water logging.
Carbon Neutral has stringent monitoring controls at its planting
sites.
Sites are well protected with firebreak, pest, and stock
management controls in place.
The species selected for the planting are all native seedlings
that have some drought tolerance.
The planting and management of the site is managed by Men of the
Trees for Carbon Neutral.
How can I access my cards?
Carbon Neutral will provide you with a URL link to your ecard page
on our website once the card has been personalised for you and the payment has
been made. The link can then be included in your electronic communications to
be sent out and easily accessible for recipients
