| To offset the emissions generated by staff commuting and air travel, we started planting trees through carbonneutral.com.au. There are quite a few options in what's basically become an offset industry. But these guys have been planting trees in our state since the 70's so we were absolutely thrilled to work with them! When we told our customers that we had become Australia’s first carbon neutral web hosting company the response we received was totally overwhelming!” |

“Western Power has chosen to offset with Carbon Neutral because we are confident of the sound ethics and vast experience the organisation has in revegetation projects. We have found the staff professional, helpful and friendly in assisting us to offset the carbon dioxide emissions produced by our fleet vehicles and mobile generating facilities. During June and July, Western Power staff, assisted by Men of the Trees, will plant 93,000 native tree and shrub seedlings at sites near, Waroona, Quairading and Toodyay. Energy Minister Francis Logan, who launched the program in February, said "We can work out, as individuals, what impact we have on our environment, and through Carbon Neutral, we can offset those emissions through the planting of trees". |

| 'I sequestered my overseas trip using Carbon Neutral as I was studying innovations in sustainability and had to walk (or 'fly') the talk. Everywhere I went in the US firms and households were going carbon neutral. Over 400 local governments have now signed Kyoto and many of these are now going carbon neutral. They are sending a message to their Federal Government that they cannot wait for them to help save the planet. Nor can we.' |

I think the planting of long-lived native trees in appropriate locations is a good way to offset the carbon emissions I cannot avoid. I donate to Carbon Neutral because to me they are an ethical not-for-profit organisation in whom I have confidence. I think most of each dollar I donate ends up as a growing tree that will be monitored. Carbon Neutral is well on the way to gaining stringent external certification of its operation, an important consideration when there are so many unaccredited people and organisations offering to take our money for various ingenious ways of offsetting carbon emissions." |
